Atheist = "somebody who does not believe in God or deities." so they literally have nothing to do on a forum named "religion and spirituality". Most questions here don't even demand atheist answers but still they are devoted to answer them all with weird logic like "I'm here because my parents had sex that's why I'm here!". I agree that our free democratic society will allow them to do this. But why their sense and logic don't prevent them from nosing in here?Free country. Topic we are interested in. Fun.We're here to bring enlightenment to the credulous.DAMn: Yes, logic, grace and opposing opinion are boring and sanctimonious 'spewing," aren't they? You undermine your own argument by showing yourself to be the opposite of what you preach. You might want to work on your ad campaign. How do you expect to fill up the offering baskets like that? I dunno, not to be mean, because not all of them are like this, but a good portion of them like to talk s*it about God because THEY don't believe in Him and THEY think it's a big joke, so they gotta be mean about it. Cool huh?Because they have a lot to teach us.freedom of speech---constitutionBecause atheism is a religion! Any belief has a system, and atheism is the belief system that there is no God. These beliefs are backed by doctrines, which are grounded in physical science for many atheists (evolution vs. creation for example).
But just like theistic religions, athestic religions have many, many different denominations. There are the cynics "The world is too cruel for there to be a God", the materialists "Nothing exists except what has matter!", and etc...im not a woman but ive commented on women's health issues. of course, a third of the questions asked under this section are driected toward atheists...Just as religious people frequently post messages on atheist websites, trying to teach them the error of their ways. Both atheist and religious firmly believe they are correct and can not understand why the other can possibly beleive contrary to their own beliefs. Each person, simply wants to change the mind of the other.Speaking for myself (agnostic, but Christians like to lump me into "athiest"), I have issues about religious abuse. I didn't recognize the church as abusive until 25 years into my programming. Just as you think it's your calling to get non-believers "saved," we think it's our calling to get believers thinking. We believe that free-thinkers make for a safer and healthier society.Asked and answered, a million times.goodness... if you question about cooking and your an accountant? where would you post your question? your obviously not a cook so does that mean you cant post your question in the cooking section? christians ask questions about evolution, shouldnt they take it to the science section? athiests ask questions about religion... in the religion section... hello?
please refer to ---> http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...Because it is a free country....and some atheists find the topic interesting. I grew up with that crap, so I have just as much right as you Stimpy! What I am saying is that no one has a monopoly in this topic.....read a book....and don't forget to wipe with Genesis. <---you asked for that!My good friend is an atheist and a practicing buddhist. Spirituality has nothing to do with whether one has theistic or atheistic beliefs.I know, you could start your own service for religious fanatics only, then you could all call each other liars and decievers and you might be able to charge! Why can't Atheists be spiritual? By the same token, where does it say that this is the "I don't know crap about Evolution, but am going to claim it is BS anyway" board? We are trying to save you from wasting your life with foolish faiths that don't allow you to live life to its fullest. We know it will not be easy, just like when a child first learns there is no Santa Claus, its a hard thing to learn but its better in the end.But they do have a faith....it is the "faith of unbelief" and they are as convicted to it as any religious believer. SHHHHHH dont tell them that. They want so bad not to believe in anything. But we know that if there was no God, certainly there would be NO atheists and that would be really dark for them.To piss you off, Atheists may not believe in God or deities but they do believe in SPIRITUALITY thus religion AND.......Just because they don't believe in "God or deities," doesn't mean they cannot be spiritual. They belong here as much as anybody.
Peace.First off atheists post in the religious section because this forum is about sharing your opinions. Seeing as atheists have opinions about religions just as often as religious believers, it should be obvious to you why they post. This is about opinion ON religions, not about religious folk supporting their own viewpoints and patting each other on the back. If you don't like opinion, then don't ask questions.
Secondly, the concept of spirituality is NOT un-atheistic. Atheists don't believe in GOD, or DEITY, that has NOTHING to do with the belief or knowledge of the spirit. Why it is that you or any one else continues to miss this very easy point, or why it is that people just can't think critically enough to see the difference is beyond me.
Thirdly it appears YOU are posting a question ABOUT ATHEISTS, but if you had it your way would PREVENT any atheists from even answering it mearly because it is in a forum named "religion and spirituality". This is a bit silly of course. If you are going to ask questions ABOUT ATHEISTS, you might want to actually hear the opinion of one, don't you think?
Atheists can and do believe in spirituality. Atheists do have opinions on religion, hence can answer religous questions with their particular point of view just like Moslems, Jews, or Christians. We all get to contribute.
In the future try not too criticize a group of peoples "sense and logic" when your own seems very suspect.
I recall a parable from jesus, "Take the board out of your own eye, before picking the splinter out of anothers..."Because a nonreligious person is still allowed to have an opinion about religion, just like someone who hates baseball is allowed to have an opinion about baseball.Well you have to understand religious people and Christians in paticular are the manifestation of everything they hate. Some of them want to understand Christianity or at least understand it enough in their mind to be able to insult it. Others just want to engage in pure insult and vent their frustrations and evil on those who manifest what they hate most in life, God.
Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done. They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; 31they are senseless, faithless, heartless, and ruthless. -Romans 1:28-31Could they be the "False Prophets" that we hear so much about ? Are they any worse than TV evangelists that have your soul and your money in mind ? I don't know and I really don't care because I'm too busy trying to live right, and be of use.#If you have any other info about this subject , Please add it free.# |
